A Three-Dimensional Spatiotemporal Template for Interactive Human Motion Analysis
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper describes a new three-dimensional spatiotemporal template, namely the Volumetric Motion History Image (VMHI), for the purpose of human motion analysis. Irregularities in human actions typically occur either in speed or orientation; they carry information about the balance and the confidence level of the human subject performing the activity. The proposed VMHI template handles successfully shortcomings of existing spatiotemporal templates related to motion self-occlusion and speed. Therefore, VMHI allows for interactive visualization, as well as quantification of motion performance. This study focuses on the analysis of sway and speed-related abnormalities, which are among the most common motion irregularities in the studied set of human actions.

3D Structure from Motion Using Homocentric Spherical Spatiotemporal Image Analysis
A technique for building a three-dimensional description of a static scene from a spatiotemporal image is presented. This technique utilizes Homocentric Spherical Spatiotemporal Image (HSSI) analysis and makes allowances for camera rotation, which is a wider class of camera motion than that in ordinary spatiotemporal image analysis. Experiments with real images from a translating and rotating c...
متن کاملMotion synthesis and editing in low-dimensional spaces
1 Human motion is difficult to create and manipulate because of the high dimen-sionality and spatiotemporal nature of human motion data. Recently, the use of large collections of captured motion data has added increased realism in character animation. In order to make the synthesis and analysis of motion data tractable, we present a low-dimensional motion space in which high-dimensional human m...
متن کاملLocal Signal Models for Image Sequence Analysis
The thesis describes novel methods for image motion computation and template matching. A multiscale algorithm for energy-based estimation and representation of local spatiotemporal structure by second order symmetric tensors is presented. An efficient spatiotemporal implementation of a signal modelling method called normalized convolution is described. This provides a means to handle signals wi...
متن کاملSimultaneous Segmentation and Motion Recovery in 3D Cardiac Image Analysis
Accurate and robust estimation of the three-dimensional left ventricular geometry and deformation has important clinical implications for better diagnosis and understanding of ischemic heart diseases. So far, most image analysis efforts have performed the shape recovery and the motion tracking tasks in separate steps, typically in sequential fashion. In this paper, we present a continuum biomec...
متن کاملThrust - Limited Optimal Three - Dimensional Spacecraft Trajectories
Several optimal three-dimensional orbital transfer problems are solved for thrust-limited spacecrafts using collocation and nonlinear programming techniques. The solutions for full nonlinear equations of motion are obtained where the integrals of the free Keplerian motion in three dimensions are utilized for coasting arcs. In order to limit the solution space, interior-point constraints are use...
